Metrolink’s Perris Valley Line is getting an upgrade. The Riverside County Transportation Commission has approved construction of a second passenger loading platform at the Perris-South Metrolink Station. 12-hundred feet of new track will be constructed to allow two passenger trains to board and deboard at the same time. CalFire and the U.S. Forest Service are taking advantage of dry weather for a series of controlled burns. Smoke has been visible over the San Jacinto Mountains. The San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra opens its 97th performance season February 21st with the first of five performances designed by Music Director and Conductor Anthony Parnther. Parnther, recently celebrated his sixth year with the Orchestra by signing a new three year contract. (INT)

Chino’s Euclid Avenue Bridge project is under environmental review. The project calls for elevating the existing bridge over Chino Creek, widening Euclid Avenue from two to four lanes, and adding bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The existing bridge will be repurposed as a wildlife crossing. (INT)

The Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) marked a milestone in sustainable public transportation Wednesday (January 14th) with a grand ribbon-cutting ceremony. Thirteen new hydrogen fuel cell buses and an interim hydrogen fueling station, made their debut. (INT)
