A tire that flew off a BMW sedan crashed into an oncoming SUV, smashing its windshield and killing the driver. The incident occurred Monday (November 17th) on a winding stretch of Freeway 60 in the Badlands west of Beaumont. Investigators will determine why the tire detached from the BMW, jumped the center divider and into the opposing lanes of traffic. The fatal victim was identified as a 68-year-old man from Los Angeles. (INT)

Saturday’s intense rainstorm spelled trouble for drivers of thirty vehicles that got bogged down in high water and thick mud in Cathedral City. Thirty-two people were rescued from a mudslide on Varner Road and taken to a staging area to reclaim their vehicles. (INT)

Under a new agreement, Hemet police detectives will work with federal postal inspectors in a coordinated, multi-agency task force dedicated to investigating and prosecuting financial and mail-related crimes throughout the region.
