RIVERSIDE--Toll lanes on Route 91 are in for an extension.

The Riverside County Transportation Commission approved a mega-consulting contract Wednesday that calls for extending toll lanes from Orange County into Riverside.

The Parsons Transportation Group will oversee the design and building of auxiliary lanes and improving connector ramps at the I-15 and Highway 71 in Corona.

Cost for the upgrades could hit $1.5 billion.

The Parsons’ contract with the RCTC weighs in at $39.8 million, according to deputy director John Standiford. (INT)
