RIVERSIDE--A Wisconsin educator and physician has been appointed the founding dean of the U-C Riverside Medical School.

Dr. G. Richard Olds was chosen from a field of forty applicants.

Dr. Olds is chairman of the Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Last summer, the UC Regents approved establishing a school of medicine at UCR. The Regents noted that the local campus will be in a position to respond to the healthcare crisis facing Inland Southern California. (INT)
