Winter weather outlook tilts toward wet side
SAN DIEGO--Local water managers are planning for shortages, but they may get some help from El Niño.

The wet-weather phenomenon is showing signs of reforming in the tropical zone of the eastern Pacific Ocean.

National Weather Service climatologist Ed Clark compares last winter to the coming four months.

“Confidence is a little higher than last winter and we should end up with somewhat above normal rainfall this coming winter.”

It has been five years since much-above normal winter rainfall soaked Southern California.

A storm last month delivered significant rain to Central and Northern California. Locally, up to 3-inches fell in the mountains between Lytle Creek and Devore. (INT)
