Flu vaccines caught in disappearing act
RIVERSIDE--Flu vaccine of all types is becoming more scarce.

Riverside County health officials have cancelled clinics the rest of the month because of a sudden shortage in the seasonal flu vaccine.

Health Department spokeswoman Barbara Cole explains what led to delays in shipments.

“There is a shifting in manufacturers in favor of the H1N1 Swine flu distribution. That has resulted in our inability to get additional (seasonal flu) vaccine at this time.”

People in good health and not in target groups may now have to wait until December for both the seasonal and Swine flu vaccines.

Clinics that were to have been held in Hemet, Moreno Valley, Riverside and Perris have been cancelled until more vaccine arrives. (INT)
