Schwarzenegger promotes 'green' policies at Denmark conference COPENHAGEN-- Governor Schwarzenegger addressed delegates to the Climate Change Conference Tuesday.
The Governor encouraged commitment and action at all levels modeled after California's approach to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, advance clean energy and create green jobs. Schwarzenegger declared that what happens in California has global consequences. “We in California do not behave as if progress has to wait for Washington, or Beijing or Koyto. In California, we are proceeding on renewable energy requirements and a cap-and-trade system for greenhouse gases.” Schwarzenegger added that climate change is a global problem that demands global solutions. And, he pointed out that “California has shown that a sub-national government can lead the way to national change.” Story Date: December 17, 2009
