Golden Globe nominees poised for box office boost
BEVERLY HILLS - ‘Up in the Air,’ a movie about corporate downsizing, led the film nominations for the annual Golden Globe Awards with six. It was followed by the musical "Nine," with five, and the sci-fi tale "Avatar" and World War II saga "Inglourious Basterds," with four each.

Among the TV contenders, the freshman series "Glee" led the list with four nominations including best comedy/musical series and acting nods for Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele and Jane Lynch.

In addition to "Up in the Air," "Avatar" and "Basterds," the best drama contenders are "The Hurt Locker."

In the best musical or comedy category, "Nine" is joined by the deconstructed love story "(500) Days of Summer"; "The Hangover," "It's Complicated," and "Julie & Julia."

Sandra Bullock will have to brace herself for two envelope openings when the Globes are held on January 17th because she received two nominations.

The Globes awards show, with Ricky Gervais hosting, will be broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton. (Source: Hollywood Reporter)
