Marquee signals Fox Theater rebirth
RIVERSIDE--Refurbishing the historic downtown Fox Theater reached a milestone Tuesday when the marquee was hoisted into place.

It was fabricated in Shanghai, China and shipped to California at a cost of over $200,000.

Riverside’s Capital Projects Director Carl Carey says it replicates the original marquee…

“It fits in the same area of the building, but will be electronically upgraded to an LED marquee.”

The Fox marquee will be lit through the holidays.

The theater originally opened in 1929. A gala grand re-opening as a performing arts center is set for January 15th. (INT)
