2009 sets Inland foreclosure record
INLAND EMPIRE--The rate of home foreclosures eased last month, but the Metro area was the nation’s fourth-highest last year.
Owners of one-in-every-eleven homes got foreclosure notices for a total of more than 126,000. RealtyTrac’s Rick Sharga in Irvine says unemployment is playing an ever bigger role. “We’re seeing more traditional foreclosures which are based on homeowners who no longer have a source of income.” Nevada, California, Arizona and Florida continue to have the highest foreclosure rates.
