Pedestrian dies on railroad tracks RIVERSIDE--A 23-year-old man is dead, the victim of a suicide on the railroad tracks in the downtown area late Friday.
Witnesses told police the man stepped onto the Burlington-Northern-Santa Fe tracks west of Commerce Street shortly before 5pm. Abdulkafur Sigal of San Bernardino was struck by an oncoming freight train and instantly killed. The incident capped a series of suicides during January in highly visible areas of the Inland Empire. A man jumped to his death from the highest span at the 60-91-215 interchange in Riverside. And, another leaped off the Bear Valley Road overcrossing on the I-15 at Hesperia.
