'511' addresses information void
RIVERSIDE--‘Inland Empire 511’ is here.

Riverside and San Bernardino county transportation officials have teamed up to launch the new service.

John Standiford at the Riverside County Transportation Commission says the dial-up and web-based service offers an array of information.

“People can get instant information on road closures, traffic conditions, public transit options and car pooling assistance. The idea is to consolidate traveler and commuter information at one spot so people can get access to it easily.”

Just call ‘511’ from any phone in the Inland Empire or on the web at www.ie511.org. (INT)
