MONTCLAIR – Two lives have been snuffed out in a crash that climaxed a weekend police chase.

Ontario police were chasing a driver into Montclair when the suspect’s vehicle slammed into a car at an intersection on Central Avenue.

Two people in the car were fatally injured. The coroner identified them as Jose Garcia, 42, of San Bernardino and his 16-year-old nephew, Luis Garcia of Yucaipa.

Circumstances of the chase and the collision are being investigated.

Under arrest is Louis Lazalde, a 26-year-old parolee from Whittier, who instigated the deadly pursuit. He was only slightly hurt in the crash. (INT)
