Southland dodges latest weather woes as skies clear
SOUTHLAND--Southern California has weathered the latest winter storm.

The season’s 15th storm spelled a rash of travel troubles throughout the Inland Empire. Most were confined to the mountains. Hazardous road conditions closed schools Wednesday in the Rim of the World School District.

Caltrans dropped cinders on Interstate 15 as the Highway Patrol escorted traffic over Cajon Summit. Earlier, Route 138 was closed at Phelan when cars got bogged down in heavy snow.

In Riverside County, up to 5-inches of snow fell at Anza.

Rainfall fell short of predictions. A few tenths were measured in the Metro area and just under an inch at the wettest mountain locations.

In Los Angeles County, there was not a repeat of last weekend’s mudflows in the Station Fire burn area. (INT)
