More funding for sbX project recommended
SAN BERNARDINO--Another $42.6 million in funding is likely for the proposed sbX rapid transit project.

That brings to $75 million the Federal Transit Administration is recommending that Congress approve under back-to-back annual budgets.

sbX spokesman Dave Rutherford says the 15.7 mile route will run from the north end of San Bernardino to Loma Linda.

“It’s a light rail-type experience on rubber tires. People will board on platforms with level boarding which is helpful for people with disabilities.”

sbX will follow the ‘E’ Street corridor and could be in operation by 2013. (INT)
