More funding for sbX project recommended
SAN BERNARDINO--Another $42.6 million in funding is likely for the proposed sbX rapid transit project.
That brings to $75 million the Federal Transit Administration is recommending that Congress approve under back-to-back annual budgets. sbX spokesman Dave Rutherford says the 15.7 mile route will run from the north end of San Bernardino to Loma Linda. Its a light rail-type experience on rubber tires. People will board on platforms with level boarding which is helpful for people with disabilities. sbX will follow the E Street corridor and could be in operation by 2013.
