Segments of Santa Ana River trail completed
INLAND EMPIRE--A 19-mile link of the Santa Ana River Trail between San Bernardino and Norco is now open.

The new “Hole Lake” segment in Riverside is less then a quarter mile but considered among the most critical.

Chief Strategist Patricia Lock-Dawson says the Hidden Valley Segment is the most picturesque. With wetlands and vistas of the San Bernardino and San Gabriel Mountains.

“You feel like you're miles from the city. You would never know you were surrounded by an urban area because it’s just so beautiful. On clear day in the winter, with the snowcapped mountains it’s beautiful,” she said.

Mrs. Lock-Dawson says efforts to complete the recreational crest-to-coast project have been ramped up.

The 100-mile completion of the trail is possible in 2012.
