Gas on verge of spring runup
SOUTHLAND--Gasoline prices are staging a rebound and the dreaded springtime run-up may be underway.

The Auto Club’s Marie Montgomery says that average Southland prices have eclipsed $3 a gallon.

“It’s going up a penny a day. When it’s rising that strongly, we may very well be at the start of a price increase.”

And, the reason is a familiar one.

“The increase is related to what’s happening on the national level with oil prices above $80 a barrel.”

Gas supplies are adequate and demand has been down.

The more expensive blend of summertime gasoline will hit the pumps around April 1st. (INT)
