22 schools make 'lowest achieving' list
SACRAMENTO--A list has been issued of 188 California public schools that are persistently the lowest achieving. There are 22 in the Inland Empire.

Secretary of Education Bonnie Reiss says the schools must implement one of four intervention models in hopes of making improvements.

“Ultimately, it’ll be the classroom teacher. This will give schools the opportunity to undertake some reform effort. Absent that, they may not be able to do.”

The schools are identified as the 5-percent of the state’s lowest-achieving schools. (INT)
