Rain brings picturesque scenery
INLAND EMPIRE--A splash of color has sprung up after the recent rains.
Diamond Valley Lake near Hemet has opened its wildflower trial next to the lake’s east marina. Among the blooms greeting visitors are orange California Poppies, yellow Brittlebush and crimson Owl’s Clover. A small admission fee includes a map of the trail with a wildflower guide. In addition to Diamond Valley Lake, desert wildflowers will reach their peak bloom in a few weeks. The biggest and brightest displays are in the Anza Borrego desert state park and the California Preserve near Lancaster. Story Date: September 2, 2010
