Mid-County Parkway hits snag
PERRIS – There’s been another delay in the scaled-down Mid-County Parkway.

Planners don’t expect construction before 2016 and completion around the year 2020.

Riverside County Transportation Commission Project Director Cathy Bechtel explains that down-sizing the parkway to 16-miles between Perris and San Jacinto means entirely new traffic patterns will have a different environmental impact.

“We have to update our technical studies for traffic, air quality and noise and prepare a revised environmental document.”

The Mid-County Parkway was originally envisioned to cover 32-miles between Corona and San Jacinto at a cost of $3.1 billion. (INT)
