Assembly passes illegal immigrant aid bill
SACRAMENTO--Republicans in the State Assembly are livid over a Democratic-backed bill that would allow undocumented immigrants to qualify for state financial aid.

The Democratic-controlled Assembly has approved the bill by Fabian Núñez.

Inland Empire Assemblyman Bob Huff says, “It only serves to attract those who break our laws”.

“In a year when we are trying to find ways of balancing our budget, it’s a terrible time to hang yet more benefits out to those who entered our country illegally.”

Huff argues that rewarding undocumented immigrants with financial aid disrespects the hard work of legal immigrants who followed the law.
