Omnitrans sets service reductions
SAN BERNARDINO – September brings some sweeping changes in Omnitrans bus service throughout the San Bernardino Valley.

No routes are being eliminated, but cutbacks on 14 routes will save about $1.6 million, according to spokeswoman Wendy Williams.

“We are confident that with the changes effective September 7th that we will not need to make any additional changes for the rest of the fiscal year ending in June, 2011.”

Ms. Williams says the cutbacks are the result of a 29 percent loss in local sales tax revenue the past 2-years.

The Riverside Transit Agency imposed cuts last May. (INT)
