Freeway crash fatalities identified
INLAND EMPIRE – A series of weekend traffic mishaps on area freeways claimed the lives of at least three people.
In Rancho Cucamonga, all lanes of Interstate 15 were reopened Sunday evening more than two hours after a fatal crash just south of the 210 interchange. Vannity Joy Lewis, 18, of Fontana was a passenger in a car thrown out of control by a tire blow-out.
In Fontana, a motorist was killed when his Jeep was rear-ended by another vehicle on Interstate 10. The coroner identified the victim as Americo Aucaruri, 53, of Fontana.
Near Palm Springs, a year-old girl died Sunday when her mother’s pickup truck hit the center guardrail on Interstate 10. Evelyn Pinto of Phoenix was ejected from the pickup. (INT)
