Lost hiker survives 6 days in the desert
JOSHUA TREE – A hiker missing in the Joshua Tree National Park has survived a 6-day ordeal.

A search helicopter spotted Edward Rosenthal, 64, of Culver City late Thursday morning after he wandered 12 miles.

Park Ranger Joe Zarki explained Rosenthal’s survival in the torrid desert heat.

“He had small amounts of food and water and some basic supplies like a blanket and a coat. He was well-provisioned for a day hike.”

But, that turned into 6-days.

Rosenthal was alert and talking while being flown to High Desert Hospital in Joshua Tree for a checkup. (INT)
