Inland traffic congestion worsens INLAND EMPIRE--The Riverside area is the 16th most-congested in the nation, according to a traffic study just issued. Los Angeles is number-one.
The Inland area’s two worst troublespots are within five-miles of each other on Route 60. One is westbound at the Moreno Valley Interchange and the other eastbound at Orange Street. The worst travel day is Friday between 4-and-5pm. Michelle Large at INRIX, a traffic information provider, says they used GPS technology to develop their study. “Data came from over 800,000 vehicles from taxicabs to long-haul trucks, delivery vans and others with GPS transponders within them.” INRIX says traffic bottlenecks are having a major impact on consumers, businesses and the nation’s economy. San Francisco was the only other California city ranking in the top ten for worst congestion. Story Date: June 23, 2008
