Tornadoes scare Northern Californians
CHICO - Tornado chasers in Northern California are getting a taste of the action seen in the Midwest.

The National Weather Service says at least two tornadoes touched down near Chico Wednesday evening. There were four cells that produced multiple tornadoes that lifted up and touched down several times.

It was a scare for lots of people in the tornado's path. On Table Mountain Boulevard in Butte County a barn was destroyed, a fence splintered and a shed completely obliterated.

Glenn Conty Sheriff’s Deputies say there were 4 tornado sightings in their county, including one near Hamilton City which is just 5 miles west of Chico. The others were near the small town of Ordbend.

Hail, thunder and lightning also hammered the Chico area. (Source: fox40.com)
