3 Riverside council incumbents win; Tax measures fail in Canyon Lake, Wildomar
RIVERSIDE – Three of the four City Council incumbents up for re-election swept to easy victories in Tuesday’s election.

Chris Mac Arthur was unopposed. Rusty Bailey raked in 87 percent of the vote in Ward 3 and Mike Gardner held off three challengers in Ward 1.

Steve Adams was forced into a run-off against John Brandriff in the 7th Ward but said he was satisfied with the campaign he ran.

“I got a lot of support, a lot of volunteers helping us. I feel good that we did the best job we could,” Adams said.

Former Riverside mayor Terry Frizzel ran a distant third in her City Council attempt.

Elsewhere, Menifee voters easily approved Measure C which would pave the way for a 30-acre development off Interstate 215 near Scott Road. Tax measures D and E in Wildomar and Canyon Lake failed to achieve the required two-thirds majority. (INT)
