9 million sign-up for earthquake drill
SOUTHLAND - As many as nine million people are signed up for Thursday’s Great California ShakeOut.

Routines at businesses, government offices and schools will be interrupted by what’s believed to be the largest earthquake drill ever.

It’s the state’s fourth annual drill in preparation for the Big One.

Preparedness officials say the most crucial advice after the drill is to gather emergency supplies that will sustain quake victims for a minimum of five days in the event of a major quake. (INT)
