Boulder nearly free of 'red tape'
JURUPA VALLEY – Rubidoux’ 340-ton boulder may soon be on a roll toward Los Angeles.

It’s been tied up in red tape since last summer. But, Caltrans has tentatively approved a permit that will allow it to be trucked 65 miles to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

The monolith will become part of a permanent exhibit called ‘Levitated Mass’ giving the boulder the illusion that it is floating.

Only the cities of Chino Hills and Diamond Bar have yet to approve transport of the huge rock through their surface streets. (INT)
