Debate over airport's future ramped up
ONTARIO - Los Angeles World Airports, owner of the Ontario International Airport, has stepped up the rhetoric over the airport’s future.

LAWA has launched a page on its website that it says will provide accurate data and facts about the underlying reasons for a continuing decline in passenger volume.

LAWA officials argue it’s the recession, the slow economic recovery of the Inland Empire, as well as changes in the airline industry. Inland Empire leaders blame it on the lack of advertising and promotion.

LAWA Executive Director Gina Lindsey said that while she does not expect this information will end debate about the future of ONT, she does hope it will add to the quality of data that frames the discussion.
