Crafton Hills College cranks out the megawatts
YUCAIPA – (INT) – Crafton Hills College is powering up with sunshine.
A solar farm, the largest of its kind in California using SolFocus technology, will be cranking out 1.3 megawatts.
Spokeswoman Alisa Moore that’ll go a long way to satisfy their energy needs.
“As long as the weather is fairly good, we should be able to take care up to 95% of the campus’ electric needs.”
One-hundred-forty solar arrays are spread out over 7-acres that was previously a golf course.
The $7.4 million project will pay for itself in eight years. It’ll was dedicated Wednesday.
