RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Corona police say a man they shot and wounded Thursday is the boyfriend of a woman who was fatally stabbed, along with her two children.

The murder suspect was seen walking along the Riverside freeway at the I-15 interchange, covered in blood and holding a knife.

Officers chased Chajon Selvin Rodriguez, 23, and wound up shooting him.

Rodriguez girlfriend, her young son and daughter, had been slain minutes earlier in their home.

Rodriguez is in critical but stable conditions and is expected to survive and face charges in the triple homicide.

Names of the victims have not been released.
