Mojave Cross gets permanent home
BARSTOW - (INT) -The controversial Mojave Cross has been assured of a permanent location in a remote location in the San Bernardino County desert.

The National Park Service announced Friday that it conveyed a small piece of park land to the California Veterans of Foreign Wars to maintain as private land.

The transfer ends a court challenge against the Mojave Cross by the American Civil Liberties Union.

The cross will be maintained by a VFW post in Barstow. The land transfer was pushed through Congress by Representative Jerry Lewis nearly a decade ago. (INT)
