End of ballot-counting seen INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Local election officials expect the ballot tabulating in the November 6th election to wind down Thursday.
Turnout will not reach the predicted 70 percent. San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters Mike Scarpello says it will even fall short of the 2008 election when it reached 75 percent. “Turnout is driven by voters’ interest in the candidates and the issues. I would assume there wasn’t the interest as in 2008. But, it was typical for most presidential elections.” Although there are thousands of uncounted ballots, Barak Obama took San Bernardino County and Mitt Romney Riverside County. Four years ago, President Obama claimed victories in both counties. Story Date: November 16, 2012
