Deputy kills handcuffed gunman in Moreno Valley
MORENO VALLEY – (INT) – A handcuffed man shot dead by a sheriff’s deputy Friday night as he lay on the ground had a loaded handgun, authorities said.

At least two officers had responded to a gang-related man-with-a-gun call stemming from a disturbance on Fir Avenue.

Minutes later, a suspect vehicle passed the scene. A young man later identified as Lamon Haslip, 18, of Ontario bailed out and tried to run. Haslip was tackled and eventually shot as he rolled on the ground.

No one else was hurt. One deputy was placed on administrative leave.
