Kite-flying incident leaves man critically hurt
MORENO VALLEY – (INT) – An attempt to fly a kite from a moving car has nearly cost a young man his life.

Sheriff’s deputies say the 22-year-old victim was sitting on the car’s trunk as the driver headed down Grenville Avenue late Sunday night.

The victim fell from the slow-moving car striking his head on the pavement. He was taken to the Riverside County Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

A follow-up investigation determined that alcohol was not involved in the mishap. A sheriff’s spokesman declined to release the names of those involved Monday.
