Earthquake damage assessed as aftershocks continue
CHINO HILLS--Dozens of aftershocks are following Tuesday’s M5.4 earthquake.
The epicenter has been placed 7-miles below the Chino Hills State Park at the Los Serranos Golf Course. Captain Jeremy Ault at the Chino Valley Fire District says they’ve responded to an assortment of calls, “mostly pictures falling from walls, minor damage to water heaters, TV’s overturned and etc.” In Palm Springs, a man broke his leg jumping from an elevator at a condo during the quake. In Los Angeles, five people were slightly hurt while trying to exit a high-rise building. There was some minor cosmetic damage to Terminal 2 at the Ontario-Los Angeles International Airport, but flights were not affected. Metrolink trains were slowed, but were back up to full speed four hours later. There were scattered electrical and cell phone service interruptions. Story Date: September 2, 2010
