'Run through Redlands' security ramped up
REDLANDS – (INT) – Police are instituting additional security measures for this weekend’s upcoming ‘Run Through Redlands’. The stepped up security is in response to the Boston Marathon bombings.

Police will not release information on specific security tactics for the Sunday event, which typically brings several thousand runners to the streets of Redlands for sanctioned 5K, 10K and half-marathon events. There will be an additional police presence.

Police have asked participants and spectators not to leave backpacks, bags or other unattended items along the event route. Suspicious items left unattended may be confiscated or destroyed.

Sunday marks the 30th year for the ‘Run Through Redlands’.
