Recall election costs estimated
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Election officials estimate that it could cost the city nearly $500,000 to consolidate a recall election with the regular municipal balloting on November 5th.

Petitions are in circulation asking that voters decide whether to remove the entire City Council, mayor, city attorney and city clerk.

If a recall election was held before November, Registrar of Voters Michael Scarpello estimated the cost at $250,000.

Because of the city’s bankruptcy, Scarpello is asking that his office be prepaid if a recall election is scheduled.
