At a bill signing Thursday, Governor Brown says it will help ensure health care coverage for Californians. “It’s a big day for Californians who don’t have health care. California is the leader. The rest of the country is looking to see how we did it through The Affordable Care Act implementation and how we are strengthening local control with funding based on need not some archaic set of facts from 40 years ago.” The federal government will fund the health coverage expansion provided in the bill for the first three years and will continue to cover eventually 90 percent of the cost through President Obama’s Affordable Care Act.
