Santa Monica Airport crash leaves four dead
SANTA MONICA – (INT) – Federal investigators continue their methodical probe into the crash of a small plane at the Santa Monica Airport.

It slammed into a hanger and burst into flames. The owner of a construction company and his son were aboard the plane. They and two other people perished.

The NTSB’s Van McKenny says the roof of the hanger partially collapsed.

“The walls of the hanger wrapped around the fuselage. Not only are the steel trusses going across the fuselage, there is steel sheet metal wrapped around the fuselage.”

It could take more than a year before the NTSB issues its finding of probable cause.
