Flu becomes 'widespread', 3 deaths in the Inland Empire
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – San Bernardino County health officials reported two flu-related deaths Friday bringing the Inland Empire total to three.

Across California, there have been seven confirmed influenza deaths in persons under 65 years of age. Twenty-eight more deaths are under investigation.

The H1N1 strain appears to be the predominant strain so far this flu season. Influenza is now considered widespread across California.

Protection is contained in the current flu vaccine.

Those at highest risk are the elderly, pregnant women, infants, or those with other health conditions.

Those who show flu symptoms should contact their physician immediately in order to get the most effective treatment. Symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headaches and fatigue.
