Water industry pioneer Lois Krieger dies
RIVERSIDE (INT) - Water industry pioneer Lois Krieger is being remembered. She has passed away at the age of 96.

Mrs. Krieger was an advocate of Diamond Valley Lake near Hemet, water transfers and storage agreements, and also pushed for modernization of the State Water Project. She served on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Water District representing the Riverside-based Western Municipal Water District.

Mrs. Krieger retired in 2001 after a 25-year career dedicated to solving water issues locally, regionally and throughout the state. She was also active in numerous Riverside community organizations and the University of California at Riverside.

Mrs. Krieger died Monday at an undisclosed location in Arizona.
