Radio DJ, game show host Geoff Edwards dies
SANTA MONICA – (INT) – Game show host and Los Angeles radio personality Geoff Edwards has died.

Edwards appeared on several sitcoms and starred on two long-running radio shows on KMPC and KFI.

But, Edwards was best known for his TV game shows of the 1970’s and 80’s including ‘Treasure Hunt’, ‘Starcade’ and ‘Jackpot’.

In 1986, Edwards became host of ‘The Big Spin’ the game show of the California Lottery. He remained host of that program until his retirement from television in 1995.

Early in his career as a news reporter, Edwards was present in the basement of the Dallas Police Department when Jack Ruby shot suspected John F. Kennedy assassin Lee Harvey Oswald in 1963.

Edwards was 83 when he died of complications from pneumonia at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica.
