Lawmakers shift Covered California into overdrive
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Local lawmakers have launched a last-minute effort to win more medical insurance sign-ups.

The Inland Empire has lagged in Covered California enrollment. It is reaching out, particularly to Latino communities, in response to criticism that it has not done enough to get the message out about affordable quality healthcare.

Riverside Assemblyman Jose Medina said that “Riverside County has one of the highest populations of uninsured individuals in California.”

Medina has teamed up with Senator Richard Roth and Congressman Mark Takano in the sign-up effort which ends March 31st.

A special event will be held March 29th at the Rubidoux Family Care Center.
