Former teacher, airplane pilot convicted in sex case
VICTORVILLE – (INT) – A former teacher who tried to avoid arrest by fleeing in a private plane is likely to get a stiff prison term for molesting three girls.

A Superior Court jury found Paul Hultman, 57, of Apple Valley guilty of four felonies.

Hultman, a pilot, was arrested at the Apple Valley Airport last year when a sheriff’s deputy stood in front of his airplane as it taxied for take-off.

Hultman had taught at two Montessori schools until 2007 when he moved to Apple Valley to become a professional pilot.

According to testimony at his trial, Hultman had hired three girls to perform chores around his home and later paid them for sex.

The girls were aged 10 to 13.

Hultman will be sentenced May 22nd.
