Releases into State Water Project announced SACRAMENTO – (INT) – State water officials will turn on the spigots and pour a little water into the State water aqueduct.
It was announced Friday that deliveries along the State Water Project will be increased to 5 percent. Previously, it was zero. Runoff and snow pack data show that February and March storms have increased reservoir storage modestly. Officials say the storm runoff will not take California out of the current extreme drought. The Central Valley Project (CVP) will limit saltwater intrusion into the inner Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta without immediately installing rock barriers in Delta channels. Story Date: April 19, 2014
