Selfie reflects lifestyle trends
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – County residents are taking a ‘selfie’ and most like what they see.

About two-thirds say it’s a very good or fairly good place to live.

Dr. Barbara Sirotnik of Cal State San Bernardino’s Institute of Applied Research has been surveying those in the nation’s geographically largest county for 17 years. Crime and the economy are getting a lot of attention.

“Fear of crime remains about the same over the years. When the recession set in, people’s evaluation of their own finances and the county’s economy really went down. We’re not seeing that bounce back as fast as I would like to see it.”

Air quality is no longer a major negative in the county. Commute times to and from work is steadily declining.
