SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – A young mother is the city’s 27th murder victim of the year.

Michelle Miers, 26, was fatally stabbed late Monday night at an apartment on West 43rd Street.

She’d used a cell phone seeking help, but didn’t tell police her exact location. Lt. Richard Lawhead says they eventually found her mortally injured.

“She did have a problem with an ex-boyfriend, but we haven’t ruled out anything.”

The young woman had two children. They are safe.
