Moreno Valley gunman identified, motives sought
MORENO VALLEY – (INT) – Investigators say the lone gunman who went on a shooting spree killing two people and wounding a sheriff’s deputy was Alex Anderson.

Anderson's body and his assault rifle were found early Wednesday in a rural foothill area. A city-wide surveillance camera system depicting the suspect vehicle had lead investigators to his location.

Earlier Tuesday, Wilma Patterson, 74, was slain in her SUV at a gas station. The second murder victim died at a house a few miles away.

A motive for Anderson's rampage has still to be determined. But, investigators say there are no other suspects.

Randy Green told reporters the victims were his relatives.

“My Mom is sitting over there dead, shot, for whatever reason it’ll be with me the rest of my life.”
